Once hit the post
Or should I say,
It once hit me.

Felt very hard
And it drew blood
Norwegian wood.

They asked me to count all the fingers they held to my face
I thought “three hundred” but add ten more just in case.

And
When I awoke
I was in bed
Pain in my head.

Asked could I ski
Like any good
Norwegian would.
¶ 6

They asked me if they could do something to ease my great pain.
I told them to take that great splinter of wood from my brain.
¶ 7

So
It was removed,
Mounted with glee
Given to me.
¶ 8

Then
I lit a fire,
Wasn’t it good,
Norwegian wood?
