“Can we play can we play can we play
Can we play can we play can we play, hey
Can we play can we play can we play
Can we play can we play you every week, hey?”

Sang the fans of Havant and Waterlooville
Which isn’t an easy name to rhyme
But twice before half time
The Kop were silenced and became still
Their Waterloo could have been that day
When amateurs showed them the way to goal
And scored enough for big bankroll
When Gate is added up
But best of all was magic ball play
On that most magnificent Hampshire Day
When eleven brave men in a lion’s den
Earned the respect of their peers
And cheers of praise from the Anfield Kop
Who stopped behind instead of heading home
Will be remembered for many a year
When in the southern pubs they share
The story of the day that they were there.
