About

I am a retired oil man having worked in the offshore oil industry for 25 years, mostly in the North Sea but also in Norway, Holland, West Africa and the Middle East. It was through observations during my time in the North Sea that I was inspired to write a collection of poems about life offshore. This collection was eventually published, the book going by the name of “Hopalong Seagull and Other Stories.” I have since put together a second collection which I intend to publish as an E book and will go by the name of “Send in the Clowns.”

Born and brought up on the boundary between Walsall and West Bromwich, I have been a Wolves supporter since 1960 when, as a nine year old, I was taken to a game at Molineux by my cousin. The game was against Spurs who were captained by Danny Blanchflower. Wolves, of course were captained by Billy Wright who was also at that time, the captain of England. I was hooked from that day on, much to the irritation of my father who was a lifelong Walsall supporter.

I am now retired and live in Mallorca with my wife and German Shepherd, Denzil. I still avidly follow the Wolves although now I can no longer go to the games and have to rely on the internet and the TV to bring the games to me.
