ZOLA- I Want To Thank U 4 Giving Me The Best Goal Of My Life
Z-O-L-A
(I Want To Thank You For Giving me The Best Goal Of My Life)
Well he’s not the world’s most handsomest guy
and he ain’t that tall when the corners come by
but he’s still got a power like the sun in the sky
it’s like solar- gian-franco zola
and everything he does goes by so fast
jinky little runs and a sweet sweet pass
like a twinkle in an eye or a sparkle in a glass
of cola- gian-franco zola
and just lke life when it passes you by
you gotta slow it down.. if you wanna see why
some of his touches leaves defences dry
mister zola – gian-franco zola
cause out on a field full of big strong men
it’s fast and its furious and not very zen
so thank god for zolas that turn up now and then
to cajole-ya-like swet mister zola
gianfranco zola-and i thank-ya Zola

yes i know there have been some amazing goals..but sometimes it isn’t the goals it’s the touches, turns, the dribbles, the moves, theflicks, the cheeky runs, the whatever…it’s the likes of the rare..the peles, the garinchas, the maradonas(!)the giggsies, the greavesies, the besties, the beckhams, the nevins, the gascoignes, the finneys, the matthews et al;long may they entertain us..long may they run.

Today B.B.C post on F.B was titled:Premier League reduced to 18 clubs? I really think it may be interesting to see if this would be Everton’s nightmare and this poem is well suited for this concern. If there would be more difficult battle to stay if there were 18 teams.Great poem and somehow true.

‘Three Teams Worse Than Us’ from our Toffee friend Denys in Italy, also sums up how FGR fans currently feel. Yes, in our case, with two going down to the Conference, it could be entitled ‘Two Teams Worse Than Us’, but three would make us feel even safer.

There still remains a magic about the early rounds of the FA Cup that the premier league / internationals can never match.
Coventry Sphinx v Leicester Nirvana sounds so much more than a tale of two cities etc. etc.

Very accurate indeed!
Palace home for me is always a tough journey as well. From the wilds of west London to Selhurst is a random journey into the unknown.

Lovely stuff for one of the best.
We love him to death down at the Palace.
I’ll post my Roy poem a bit later. You’ve inspired me to finish it.

I’d like to think some of my scarves might get passed down the generations, but can’t see some of the “quality merchandise” I have making much past my son’s generation. They’ll fall apart before he even has kids, I reckon!
