1-0 to the Farcenal

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Through whispered plans
these fancy dans
( not artisans )
bamboozled fans.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Robert had the gall
(or should that be gaul?)
to touch the ball
so that Henry could score.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But it all went awry
in the blink of an eye
with clouds scudding by
at Highbury.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The ball stayed on the spot
if it moved, just a jot
not a lot.
Then the crowd lost the plot.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Gooners fans watched aghast
at the mounting French farce,
mouthing words such as “blast”
with a furious glance.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 They didn’t find it funny
that the kings of comedy-
that’s Pires and Henry
had fluffed a penalty.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 They thought it as funny
as Laurel and Hardy.
For Stan and Ollie
read Robert and Thierry.

Notes

Cue Laurel and Hardy music – repeat to fade. Oh-ho, that funny French pair. They really are a blast!
