13th Bolton Volunteer Freefall Parachute Display Team

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Climb the giddy heights
Of football’s Premier League
And you can taste the rarefied air of Europe.
You fly
Players fly
Everyone flies.
Then somebody opens a door,
And the entire team
Becomes a freefall parachute display team,
But seemingly without a parachute.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Great heights
Lead to long drops.
Freefall hurts everybody
With egos falling as fast as appearance money.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But why should the players care?
They’ll still get their thousands per week.
Somebody will always get them a parachute.
But who’ll get one for the team?
Remember – all that waits at the end of the fall
Is Coca-cola.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Forget politics
Just play for the bloody badge.
See Dublin later
