A Day At The Seaside

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Went to Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road
To watch the Sky Blues play
Eighteen hundred of us in party mood
Because the game fell on a bank holiday.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But as usual the team let us down
They quickly removed the smiles from our face
The manager said the players weren’t up for it
Which to us travelling supporters is a disgrace.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 What if us fans “weren’t up for it ? ”
Turning up but not bothering about our team
We all came along for the football
Not the Pleasure Beach, or candy floss and ice-cream.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Fair play though to the Blackpool fans
In their old fashioned half built ground
There may not be a lot of them
But what they’ve got, make a really good sound.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A lot of our fans decided to stay over
But the rest of us had seen about enough
Because our teams performance was like the sea
Very very choppy, and very very rough !

Notes

It was my first visit to Blackpools ground, and what a disappointment that was, one end was a building site, and the away end, where we were, was open and uncovered. I loved the old grounds, but it just seems a bit odd for these days. But then again, our ground is modern,
but it aint doing us much good ! So maybe Blackpool have the answer,
because they don’t lose many home games !
