A Dying Football Club

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Playing every game away
and with a very young team,
my club is in such a state
it makes me want to scream.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We were once in the Premier League
and playing the country’s elite,
I saw us take on England’s best
Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, all beat.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We have also won the F.A.Cup
the streets were a sea of Sky Blue,
but now we are owned and run
by a bunch of morons without a clue.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 My beloved club is in turmoil
with no good news in sight,
our hardcore fans are still there
but the rest are losing the fight.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So a great football club is dying
and yet nobody seems to care,
but all us fans want and need
is someone to hear our prayer.

Notes

My club Coventry City as most will know, have to play our home games at Northampton’s ground as we had to leave the Ricoh due to our crappy owners not paying rent there.

Also we were docked ten points, so instead of being in sixth place right now we are hovering above the drop zone.

We lost our leading scorer a few weeks ago too, he decided he wanted to go to Wolves instead of helping us and the youngsters.

I detest our owners so much but they just won’t go, they are a menace and a disgrace.

I worry for our future but hope no other club goes through what we are going through right now.
