A Football Fan

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What is a football fan ?
What makes them stand out ?
To me they love their team
Their loyalty is never in doubt.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They stick with their club always
Even when the chips are down
The true fan keeps on going
When the rest are wearing a frown.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Do they throw the towel in
And decide to stay away ?
No, you can always be sure
They’ll be there come Saturday.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Yes they have a moan and groan
And sometimes question their loyalty
But they will always keep turning up
Because it’s where they want to be.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Their team could be a Premier League side
Or play in a division much lower down
But it doesn’t matter who the club is
Be it Arsenal, Chelsea, or Crawley Town.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Don’t ever ridicule the team they support
Just because they’re not a big name
Remember it’s not just the big clubs
Who make up the Beautiful Game.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So let’s applaud all these true fans
Who are there through thick and thin
They will always keep supporting their club
Even when they never get a win !

Notes

Watching some of the F.A. Cup games I loved the scenes after the giant killing ones, and what it means to the fans of these smaller clubs.
They will always remember that day, but what always pleases me is the loyalty shown by these fans, we can all follow the big clubs can’t we as so many obviously do, but I take my hat off to these true supporters, to me they are the backbone of this game we all love.
