A Football Phonetic

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Paddy P. O’Flaherty
Of Gillygooly town,
Went every second Saturday
To the football ground…
Where he would watch his fav’rite team
And get so excited,
That he’d clap and cheer and bawl
“C’mon Shamrock United!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But one day walking to a match
Old Paddy frowned with doubt,
When he saw a sandwich in the road,
With two wires sticking out…
And having had a closer look
He cried “Bejabbers an’ begorrah!
I’d better phone t’ police right now,
T’is can’t wait until t’morrow…”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So he phoned the local police
And said, with some aplomb,
“T’ere’s a san’wich layin’ in t’ street,
Which I t’ink may be a bomb!”
“Is it tickin’?” asked the policeman
Who then groaned in disbelief,
When Paddy answered “Don’t t’ink so,
T’ me it looks like beef!”
