A Laughing Stock Or What?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 All interviews have come to niet
The whole lot turned us down
Big Phil was favorite just last week
But now he’s changed his mind.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Klinsmann’s name was mentioned
A long shot to be blunt
If he took the post and failed to win
Where next, The Russian front?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 An Italian manager? No thanks
Their game is on the wane
Against L’pool and Arsenal they fired blanks
And both Meelan teams looked tame.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So Sparkie’s gone to Eastlands
Then he ain’t gonna come
To Stamford Bridge to lead us on
And be The Special One?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 With all that talent sitting there, overpaid and undertaxed
How hard can it be to manage, in that make believe world,
Where the sun always shines?
Hold on. A working class hero’s words have just come to my mind
“Giz a job, go head, giz a job, even I could do that!”*

Notes

*The famous words of Yosser Hughes, a real bona fide working class hero from Alan Bleasdale’s brilliant…” Boys From The Blackstuff”.

What a great manager of our first team, he’d be!!

How hard can it be to manage a load of blokes who play week in week out, for absolute fortunes, with nothing and I mean sweet nothing, but playing football to be concerned about. Way out of touch with reality and the real world?

I’m not that busy at the moment, so maybe I’ll send me CV in to Roman!

peace
