A Liverpool’s fan lament

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Balls, balls change everything,
How we play and how we score,
Why did we have to bring
A ball meant for the shore?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Balls, balls change everything,
Just look at Rafa’s scowl,
Oh what woes this could bring,
He might throw in the beach towel.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Balls, balls change everything,
This we know on reflection,
And the Sunderland fans now sing
‘Bent is short for deflection’.

Notes

This is my tongue in cheek tribuute to the way in which Liverpool fans responded to the famous beach ball incident. By the way, I heard the tune of ‘Love changes everthing’ as I penned the piece… a song made popular by, er, Michael Ball.
