A Lord Lormor Lament

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Now is the time, to write another poem,
In tribute of an experienced goal scorer,
Following his quality strike at home,
Let’s pay homage to Lord Tony Lormor.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Surely the management have got it wrong,
To all Anth fans, it’s an almighty wrench,
The Lord is healthy, fit and strong,
So why is he on the bench?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Tony sub again, I can take no more,
Why? I do not know the reason,
As the boy has just ran on to score,
His first goal of the season.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Lormor should be named in the starting line,
Defences he can out-fox,
Anth’s a traditional number nine,
With deadly finishing in the box.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Anth’s goals can come from head and boot,
He is also brave and bold,
But he should NOT be an experienced substitute,
In the traditional bench sitting mould.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Smythe.

Notes

I was inspired to write this poem as a protest to Hartlepool United manager Chris Turner and as a tribute to Anthony Lormor. After Tony was continually named as as substitute every game. Tony is currently scoring freely at Shrewsbury Town during his on loan spell, from Hartlepool United. He is an experienced goalscorer in the traditional centre forward mould. A model pro.
