A Message to You, Ruudi

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I think that I would quite enjoy
The Dutch without van Nistlerooy,
For, though he has undoubted skill
And gives the neutral fans a thrill,
And though his shooting boots are such
They cannot but assist the Dutch,
And though he reads the game so clearly,
Punishing defenders dearly,
And though he sits on football’s pinnacle,
His attitude is very cynical.
He often goes to ground with ease,
Knocked over by the slightest breeze,
And if a fullback goes in hard,
He’s bound to get a yellow card,
For Ruud will yell and shriek and roll
Towards the poor defender’s goal,
And clutch his knee or grasp his head,
Implying he is nearly dead,
Perfecting this bizarre charade,
Although no contact has been made.
And if the ref should pay no heed,
Then Ruud gets very cross indeed,
And waves his arms in manic fury,
As if appealing to the jury.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I really like the Dutch, but I
Would rather they played Roy Makaay.
