A Perfect Resting Place Or What?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We parked the hearse on the half way line
So yer man inside had a good view
We cracked open a king size Red Barrel
Then with gusto discussed four four two

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 As match did kick off our caps we did doff
To our stiff mate inside of the box
The touch line though neat was made much more complete
With two cockneys and sixty five jocks

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As beer was passed round a low mellow sound
Was followed by a round of applause
Five richards who sang where deceased and his gang*
Had usually escaped from the quare one indoors

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Babycham was the call as the five did entrall
Referee, linesman and all
As game came to close and those sitting rose
To pay their respects to our mate
We had so much to drink, did not one of of us think
About the groundsman and him locking the gate

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We all could not leave without the deceased
So we all had a can and a vote
The discussions were tense as we leaned on the fence
The outcome bought a lump to me throat

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 It was there we would rest in his cleanest string vest
Our mate and his best football shirt
So there in the plot under penalty spot
Our mucker lies under the dirt!!!

Notes

Richard The Thirds cockney slang for birds usually shortened to Richards!

peace.
