how strange to have Easter
without a big game
there are some who would argue
the World Cup’s the same

nostalgic and daft
but I feel like a paddle
in search of a raft

thank god for the children
with chocolate galore
and a break from the stress
at the top – such a bore

while they rip open boxes
and prefer they seek eggs
than go hunting for foxes
