A Quiet (sic) Unbelievable Performance.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’ve just witnessed
The most unbelievable performance
One of rarity I’m sure you’ll agree
I didn’t watch it with Gary,
Who may have added his comments
Yesterday evening on primetime T.V

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Said performance
Was one of mind blowing proportions
In the art we fans know as totally inept
Why even this morning
I can’t comprehend what I saw
So maybe I should just take it on the chin and accept?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Nah. When paying me money
I know I’m taking the chance
That maybe we might lose the game
I’ve no problem with that,
It’s what make me heart dance
To a dizzy will we or won’t we refrain.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Said performance
On occasion seemed laughable
If an elbow in the face can be so
While struggling twenty yards
Behind the play seems farcical
For watching the clear bouts of wrestling on show.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Yet in all the years
I’ve been going to “The Football”
And poems about it, that I’ve written in reams
I’ve yet to witness a man
So intent on being the star of the show
Right from the kick-off and with his very first blow
Thereby eclipsing the game and two teams.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So should we give ‘im’ an Oscar (sic)
For the way that he bossed
And starred during yesterdays game?
Nah. He’d only see getting up on the Mike (sic)
As a God given right
And his chance to better a more illustrious surname.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 It’s not losing that irks me or a title shot blown
The loss of our home record held under Joe
The Mackems were up for it right from the start
So Good Luck to them as three points needed depart.
Nah. Me ire is reserved for a man who we know
Is a bit of a card (sic)
When it comes to properly running a show!

Notes

I’ve had to take a really deep breathe and think before writing this latest poem about yesterday’s game and the mind-blowing antics of Mike (I’m a dreamer) Dean, otherwise it would have been full of expletives that would have seen it binned by the editors and quite rightly so. I must stress that Dean never cost us the game, he totally ruined it as a spectacle (sic). Well I am!

Carefree…. braised in Celery.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
