A Rollercoaster Ride

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Crowds packs in tight
at night floodlights on,
watching my team Coventry City
and yet another game won.
Rattles and rosettes
decked out in sky blue,
our player nets a hat trick
and on his debut.
Jimmy Hill is our manager
what a breath of fresh air,
we now play football
with skill, style, and flair.
He gets us into the top flight
just as he said he would,
Highfield Road is our home
us supporters are feeling good.
Fast forward to the present
and to the year of 2019,
but what a rollercoaster ride
being a fan it has been.
We are again ground sharing
playing “home” games away,
you have to go to St Andrews
to watch the City play.
Yet they are currently unbeaten
so they’re going really well,
but can they keep it up ?
it’s far too early to tell.
But fingers and toes crossed
and to the football Gods we pray,
that Coventry City get promoted
in that merry month of May !

Notes

I think my title sums it up nicely.
But all rollercoaster rides come to an end, so hopefully come the end of the season us Sky Blues supporters are looking forward to being back in the Championship ?
