A Valentine Confession

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’ve a confession to make,
I’ve loved you for all this time
from the very first moment
I became aware of you.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I was only a young boy
but age never meant a thing
even when my mother said
nothing good will come of it.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Luckily my Dad was fond of you too
said take no notice of Mum
she’ll come round in the end
but my mind was made up.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Here I am a middle aged man
and still in love with you
yes we’ve had our ups and downs
with lots of tears along the way.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But nothing has come between us
girlfriends have come and gone
but not you as you’re still here
together we have survived it all.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Yes Football you’ve caused me pain
and broken my heart many times
but my love for you remains
and will do so for years to come.

Notes

An alternative spin on Valentines Day, but then again not too far from the truth, as my ex missus would probably say !
I’ve always said, Football is a relationship: you’re either in it for the long haul or just in it for a brief time, but seeing my relationship is with Cov City it’s amazing it’s lasted this long !
