A View From Behind The Goal

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 From the Stretford End seats
I watched Torres glide by
Our statuesques back line nowhere.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Whilst custodian De Gea
Cajoled in to a dive
Looked helpless coz Torres weren’t there.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Almost certain to score,
His left foot took aim
To finish a move of fluidity

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Yet no Londoners roared
The score stayed the same
That’s when it suddenly hit me!*

Notes

I’ve nicked the basic idea for this little poem from a tongue in cheek text message that’s been flying around amongst Chelsea supporters, here in London this last week.

We’ve gotta be able to laugh at our mans open goal miss, or else we’d be crying our blimmin eyes out, wouldn’t we?. Yer gonna be alright Fernando son..don’t worry about it, it happens.

A classic game none the less, we may have lost this latest battle, but will they eventually win the war?

Go well and be lucky.

Carefree……

Peace.

Kev.

*It being the ball!
