A win against Harps

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I don’t think I’m greedy
But clearly the needy
Are always out looking for more.
Stout-hearted and plucky,
We’ve been quite unlucky
To only end up with a draw.
Our financial status
May sometimes deflate us,
Its enough that we’re strong and resilient.
But though we’re not counting,
The draws keep on mounting,
So a win against Harps would be brilliant.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Kildare and Kilkenny
And Wexford – too many,
Though God knows we need the stability.
Though quite ego-bruising,
Its better than losing,
Reward for our bouncebackability.
Limerick and Mons
Were unfortunate ones
With the honours divided precisely.
But once in a while
The poor fans need to smile
So a win against Harps would do nicely.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It was such a close call,
We near went to the wall,
And we’re lucky to still be competing,
And therefore, as such,
We should not hope for much,
As a poor boy expects a good beating.
So we should be content
With our point-a-game bent,
Bad fractures take years to be mended,
So our series of draws
Deserves deaf’ning applause
(But a win against Harps would be splendid.)
