Notes

if you are unfamiliar with world music and the wonderful voices of the
above two artists…this “poem” will make no sense at all..
(not that it makes that much sense anyway!)….but i scribbled this on the back of a WOMAD flier while scatching for reasons… after the anti-climactic African Nations Final…also after having watched two great semi-finals with Senegal, Nigeria,Cameron and Mali …..thank god for the voices and drums of Africa… and the crowd and the colours and the music in the back-ground..I also felt Camaroon had a totally unfair advantage with those sleeveless-shirts.. it meant that everyone in the crowd… from birds flying overhead to passing buffalo AND… MORE IMPORTANTLY.. the Senegal defence.. were totally distracted and focused only on the Cameroon muscles…but i guess that’s the way that football is going today…all muscle and no poetry…
