An (adopted) silver lining for Magpies

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Prayers are answered, a sense of relief.
“Rivals are beaten? Let’s pile on the grief!”
Up from the Tyne comes a hollow cheer,
but pride’s still intact along the Wear.

Notes

Written in the aftermath of the League Cup Final.

As a Newcastle United fan, I find it quite sad that for many Magpies, the ‘highlight’ of the season will be cheering another team’s victory over Sunderland at Wembley.

It says much about the lack of ambition at St James’s Park these days.
