An ode to the muse

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 To all the girls I’ve ever loved before –
I’m afraid t’would be too short a ditty;
To all the jokes I’ve ever uttered –
Not enough of them were witty

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 To all the sums I got right at skool –
Well they wouldn’t fill a book;
And as for the poetry wat I lerned –
Last seen babbling by a brook

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 To all the songs that were my ‘favourite ever!’ –
Why yes, they run to many dozens
All those exquisite tunes enthralling….
My many perfect cousins!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And so what else besides
Could be regarded as my muse?
Why the church of Stamford Bridge of course
Where we sit and take our pews ….

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Then to stand and chant and clap and cheer
As our heroes take to the fray;
Leaving one to jump and shout ….
“Please let me play!”
