An Ongoing Affair

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I never went to college
Rarely went to school
I spent such times in trouble
Breaking all the rules

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The only place I felt at home
Was on a field of green
Here I did what I was told
Because I was so keen

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 If nuns told me to mark him tight
That was what I did
If a master told me to go in goal
I didn’t bat a lid

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I loved the thought that one day
You’d be Denis Law
Or maybe a defender
With class like Bobby Moore

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 I loved this game we talk of
As later I loved girls
The different ways that it is played
In all parts of the world

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Its never ever left me
That special kind of buzz
As you walk in to a football ground
It’s like meeting one you love!

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 I’ve been to all kinds of places
To watch the different teams
A true fans know
They can take your soul
Then destroy your dreams

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 You can be ridiculed for following
A team thats doing crap
You don’t need to be told
That they’re so bad
Because they’ll drive you mad

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Some might call me stupid
But I don’t really care
