Andy Gray

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Big fat man with massive belly,
Man U shirt is proudly stained,
Shouts invective at the telly,
Countless pints of beer are drained.
Can’t you see that he’s the man?
Ireland’s modern football fan.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Meanwhile half a mile away,
Such a long and tiring slog,
The local team are trying to play
In front of three men and a dog.
Football is so underpriced.
Andy Gray’s the Antichrist

Notes

Frank Pentagali, Shels fan, quoting a Scottish fan in Kilmarnock before a uefa Cup match – “People today think that supporting a team is sitting on a barstool and shouting at the telly for ninety minutes a week, while the local team plays to a half-empty stadium down the road.”
