Another Cup Disgrace

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Last year at this time I wrote here for all to read:
“The proud history of the F.A. Cup’s besmirched
when Premier League clubs put out their reserve side,
–with results to match. . . now who’s surprised?
Manchester United reserves Nil, Exeter amateurs Nil!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 At that time, Sir Alex apologized and made a vow:
“This is Exeter’s day but I will play a much stronger team
in the replay and we will not make this mistake again.”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And now Burton Albion Nil, Manchester U Nil! Oh, Sir Alex,
what happened to your “we will not make this mistake again”??

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Another red face. “I can’t deny Burton a fantastic result for them.
We seem to be good at saving teams financially,
last year it was Exeter and this year it is Burton’s turn.”

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Let’s face it, does money makes the farce alright?
Or does it compound the ignominy and disgrace?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Christopher T. George

“Burton Albion produced the performance of a lifetime to hold Manchester United to a goalless draw in a classic FA Cup tie at The Pirelli Stadium.”

“Despite the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo taking on the Conference side, it was Burton who receive all the plaudits for a breathtaking display of courage and conviction in both defence and attack.”
