1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re back for more endeavour
while some still holiday
a handful here from Tyneside
have found Another Way*

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 we wipe away the memories
those seasons in a row
the cruel Play Off lottery
for where we long to go

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 the Rovers faithful reconvene
they’re sampling Vegan food
the Heeds have come here to defend
as deadlock is ensued

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 the Wembley heartbreak is long gone
at last the crowd ignite
it’s early doors at The New Lawn
we’re showing will and fight

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 we start to know the faces
the shape the look the new
the season stretches like the hills
as far as we can view

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 the trees have grown much taller now
the sheep can barely see
we’d take a goal from anywhere
a win will do for me

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 we leave it late but in the end
we may not have impressed
and need to gel but what the hell
we grab one at the death

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 and later with the ground all still
I pinch myself and say
how fabulous our hillside home

*Another Way is the road name leading to The New Lawn home of Forest Green Rovers, high in the Cotswold Hills.
