Anywhere Man

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Resigned to starting 2012/13
With new men in the dugout
After a few false starts, he got away
Lambert owes us nowt

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 For three good seasons
We had unrestrained ascension
Ending twelfth in the Premier League
With the minimum of tension

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 For us, from twelfth, the likely way is down
Top flight success hard to maintain
We’ve never won the FA Cup
Only one good run in Memory Lane

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Norwich City won’t win the title
We’re not likely to join the elite
We’re built for survival, in a three wheel wagon
Never arriving in Easy Street

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 It’s not about those in charge
Millionaires, maestros or fancy dans
It’s all about us born to yellow and green
The all-singing, all-chanting ever-present fans

Notes

Goodbye Paul Lambert, with thanks for your work for Norwich City.

Lambert is a professional, he courts no praise or adulation – he does the job, takes the money and looks to the next project. He prefers the challenge of a club on it’s knees and that’s why he landed in Norwich in the first place. Now that we are wobbling about on stabilisers he’s happy to leave us to it, and earn himself a big pay rise and a new job to relish. Bit surprised if he goes to Villa, being fourth choice behind Martinez, Rodgers, and Solskear but if they all walked away it probably made it more attractive to our Lambo.

Anyway he has gone, and I look forward to the next season with greater interest and excitement; well, all these promotions and success were getting a bit samey…
