Arsenal v Portsmouth

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Redknapp loves us really,
that much is plain to see,
Portsmouth is full of ex-gooners,
he loves us, obviously.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They have rock-solid Lauren,
with the goal within his range.
Today Sol Campbell’s injured
– some things never change.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Calamity James
has paid the price,
for the kind of diving
that’s not too nice.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 What a penalty,
van Persie hits the floor,
1-0 to the arsenal,
ADEBAYOR!!!!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Fabregas the sniper-man,
he netted next,
a lovely rebound effort,
which can’t be described in text.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Rosicky left James on his backside,
after megging a defender.
After brilliant goals like that,
Portsmouth’s chance looked slender.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Phillipe “Sendimoff” was at it,
again seeing red.
Ran to mark Kanu,
who’d already left him for dead.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Fortituous forwards,
are a heart-breaking curse.
Kanu netted against his former club,
things looked like getting worse.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Forty minutes to go,
Portsmouth still chasing a draw,
and scared of ending up like spurs*
we wanted to get one more.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 On come more defenders,
off come the attack,
we wanted to steal another goal,
but lacked a man at the back.

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 Abou Diaby claims he can play striker,
headed wide a shot impossible to miss.
Both the keepers on their toes,
proper end-to-end stuff, this.

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 It could have been a goal-fest,
there should have been loads more,
but for Manuel Almunia,
only once he let them score.

Notes

Manuel Almunia! How is he not always picked ahead of Lehmann? And Kolo Toure filled two places at the back, a real defender’s defender.

* hahahahahahaha, how is it possible? Any other team would have my sympathy, I bet Fulham are very happy with the point!
