As the end of the season rolls in

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I hate it when we’re down to the last few games
A handful of chances a bootful of dreams
And a trophy room full of hopes,
Missed chances, maybe’s, should’ve beens
Well, its not quite over yet
Still two Euro games and maybe three
But the season’s end is still so near
Lost Saturday’s beckon
I’m off the rollercoaster
Loving it’s highs and cursing it’s downs
But still its the best ride in the football park.

Notes

Pete Wiley once said “if a rollercoaster had no ups and downs it would just be a train….”

Football is like that, one minute you’re grazing the face of the sun, next you’ve a mouthful of dust….what makes its so exciting, compulsive and entertaining.

“I was born on the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish sea
It might not seem like heaven to you
But it’s home sweet home to me”
