Away at Grays

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 On Monday we stood in the sweltering heat
Frying alive watching the Shots get beat
We still managed to sing and cheer
Though it was the hottest day of the year

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 For three hours we stood in the burning sun
Till my face looked like a steak, “well done”
Under those scorching rays, the Shots fans baked
Hotter than the cooler in the Great Escape

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But when I arrived in work yesterday
Quite a few people came up to say
“Where have you been on your holidays?”
I answered, “I‘ve been to football, away at Grays!”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So think on this, if you’re looking for a tan
Forget those holiday brochures you scan
follow the Shots to all the away grounds
You’ll end up looking like a million pounds
