Back in 91.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It was back in 91,
When we last won a cup,
A time when our fans could hold our heads up,
Since then we’ve had pleasure, and we’ve had pain,
I know our Wednesday will rise high again.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Driving down to Wembley with excitement in our bones,
Our blue and white scarves clearly being shown,
Arriving at the stadium to see our team play,
Something told us this was our day.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We took up our seats in the famous old ground,
Welcomed to a tremendously high sound,
Cheering on our players with expectance to deliver,
The thought of losing made us all quiver.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 It was our day as we served up a tasty dish,
John Sheridan scoring, rang true did my wish,
He put his boyhood support all to one side,
Then ran towards our fans laughing with pride.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We drove back to Sheffield in joyous way,
Singing for the players, singing for the day,
Arriving home to cheers, laughter and pride,
All this caused by our Wednesday side.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 It was back in 91,
When we last won a cup,
A time when our fans could hold our heads up,
Since then we’ve had pleasure and we’ve had pain,
I know our Wednesday will rise high again.
