Back To The Bread and Butter

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 So our F.A.Cup run is now over
But Chelsea were the much better team
They were always in complete control
Thus ending our Wembley hopes and dream.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But we enjoyed it nevertheless
We had some fun along the way
The Cup can still get the adrenaline pumping
That’s why the Ricoh was packed on Saturday.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Chelsea played with a Premier League swagger
Whilst Cov City looked nervous and awestruck
Relying too much on the long ball route
And hoping for just a little bit of luck.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 It was good to see such a big crowd
But will they come back for more ?
Thousands of part-time supporters
Not part of the Sky Blues hardcore.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Still, all good things come to an end
Let’s now push on and try for a play off spot
But we should be back in the Premier by now
If only for the stadium, and the great fans we have got.

Notes

I don’t know if other fans agree with me on this, but I’d rather be part of a hardcore following, than support a club just now and then, picking out games to see, hence verse four !

Editors: Totally agreed and thanks for you poem Kevin. It’s hard isn’t it.
I felt like that a bit about Forest Geen when 5.000 crawled out of the Cotswold stone-work when Derby County came of course in the 3rd..
Now it’s back to the hundreds..It hasn’t realy changed much since the hey days of crowds..Everyone wants the so called big guns.’ Great noise and atmosphere though at the Ricoh. How cool was that for Coventry to be live on national ITV. I saw John Sillett and his late brother Peter play together in defence as a child too .Crispin
