Back!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 1 Isn’t it good to be back home
Fresh green pitch on which to draw out our season
and maybe even win sometimes
Scan the ground looking for changes
Greet all the old faces and a few strangers
A new rotating big screen in the corner
to show highlights and goal replays
It’s as under-worked as their keeper
Reality bites, the mood gets deeper

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The running track around the pitch
has been replaced by artificial turf
Not many players bought or sold
Just lots of talk on what they’re worth
It finishes nil-nil, team boo-d off
Bounce back quickly? Seems there’s no rush

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Ladies toilet still don’t flush
Wes still hasn’t got a right foot (though we love him dearly)
New sponsors, new season
Nothing really changes
We face the usual Championship dangers
Its great to be back home

Notes

Its back! Season 2016/17 , NCFC have a new CEO, Jez Moxey. Our Chairman Ed has signed up to do Strictly. Glitterballs! The Jarrold Stand has been renamed and a new sponsor announced. It took us 12 years to respond to “Sing Up The Jarrold” with a quiet little “We’re the Jarrold, we’re the Jarrold, we’re the Jarrold over ‘ere” Now, “We’re The South Stand Sponsored by The Galway Roast Over ‘ere ” so guess that knocks our choir on the head for another 12 years.
Our third strip has been mocked in the national press, the “egg ‘n’ cress” design they call it. My own shirt is very on trend, yellow and green gingham. I call it the “square pea and sweetcorn”. Other fans say “My eyes are burning”.
What changes have you noticed at your ground this August?
