Badge

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You play for the badge,
The Gaffer once said,
And not for your monthly pay packet
If you decide not to play
For the people who pay
When it comes to your contract, forget it.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The badge that you wear
Means a lot to this town
Its prides, its love, its passion
When you kick that football
You must give your all
They’ll repay you with love, in their fashion.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So when next you walk out
On that hallowed green turf
You’ve more on your back than your coat on
Play hard for the town
And they’ll not let you down
Because you’re playing, my lad, for Bolton!

Notes

If only more players would remember this,
and not concentrate on multi million pound contracts
