Banks of England

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The greatest England keeper of all time,
Thwarting Pele was pretty fine.
Did it week in week out – consistency,
dedication was the key,
to his success and that of his successor,
Shilton was awesome but Banks was better.

Notes

Banks is a legend, 7 clean sheets in a row, that’s an English record (Shilton didn’ t break them all, not quite!) and since it was ultimately ended by a Eusebio penalty anyway, and in the year 1966 it’s pretty much a brilliant record.
