You’re welcome but don’t bring your drum
We don’t want to cause ‘atmosphere’
Just pay your money and sit down here

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 You’re up for the tie, though it’s not plum
Bring your kids, bring your old mum
We’re looking forward to the match
But won’t allow your drummers on our patch

You can’t bring yours, it’s rule of thumb
We’re not open to discussion
We simply won’t have your percussion

We have home comforts, you won’t get a crumb
We want your money to make up the crowd
But enjoyment? That’s not allowed

Notes

Southampton FC have barred the Bury fans drum from the 4th round cup tie tomorrow. I can see why; we allowed it at our Carrow Road
ground and they held us for a replay at their place which they won.
Beat the drum, beat the opposition!

The Bury fans have organised a petition to appeal the decision; I hope that the Saints will relent so that the Shakers can enjoy a big day out.
We in Norfolk can vouch for them – “they weren’t no bother”
