Before The Uproar

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Every team has every hope
Though with varying aspirations
All ready to enjoy sweet congratulations
They are sure that they will cope
With whatever is thrown their way
They’ve prepared so they’re okay.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And I think in every country
There are critics who speak of doom
On the shelf they won’t prepare room
For a gleaming golden trophy
Because it’s somewhat easier to not believe
To say it’s over before they leave.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Managers and players all agree
That this year they will do themselves proud
Flags will be waved and horns pressed loud
Fulfilling some awesome destiny
They picture the crowds at the airport
They’ll thank them for their lavish support.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Settle for expectations exceeded
So at least people will say they tried, they tried
In places with tv’s they cried, they cried
Nevertheless one aspect has succeeded
Imprints those days in your mind
The thrill, the kick, the memory bind.
