Beware Geeks Bearing Gifts

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 People who do not support football
Really don’t get it, it’s true
They buy you a scarf for Christmas
Saying “I saw this and thought of you”
They can’t understand why you won’t shake their hand
Just because the scarf is red and not blue
People who do not follow football
Can’t know what it means to you
They try to show an interest
Saying “You support Man City don’t you?
They’re scoring plenty of goals”
Then their present so carefully chosen
Is the autobiography of Paul Scholes

Notes

To some, a football shirt is a football shirt.
The game just twenty two grown men kicking a ball around (said with a sneer)
A non-football fan can sit through a game with arms folded, bum never leaving seat and only speaking to say “They keep the lawn nice here”
We all have an entertainment that we cannot apprecitate. Mine was a medieval concert featuring hurdy-gurdies. Now that WAS torture. (Even worse than being a Cov City fan (smile Kev Halls))
