Big John, Geordie legend.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 John McNamee never wore gloves
Hi-lites in his hair
Or diamonds in his lugs
They used to feed him on raw meat
My old man used to say
Ah wish he was still wor centre half today.
John McNemee is in his Sixties now
Stooped, and walks with a limp
But ah would still pick him instead of Titus Bramble.

Notes

Big John McNamee 60’s Geordie legend, I’ll never forget him swinging on the crossbar after a goal at Roker Park in the tyne-wear derby.
LUG’S is a tyneside word for ears. Happy day’s indeed.
