Bill Shankly looked at Jose’s coat

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Bill Shankly looked at Jose’s coat
And smiled at Bob and Joe
He quipped “the laddie’s done some good
But Rafa’s far to go”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Bob nodded “aye you’re right there mind
I like his modesty
He’s quiet like and dignified
Not like you but me!”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Uncle Joe he laughed out loud
Stubbed out his cigarette
“Come on lads get in the kop
This game’s not over yet!”

Notes

For my Father who passed away in ’88; Heysel in ’85 broke his heart, didn’t get the chance to see us back in the Euro Cup, every other we shared, here’s hoping for one more, here’s to you Dad watching in heaven with Bill, Bob, Joe and 96 Reds; have a word with He who works in mysterious ways eh?

“I was born by the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish Sea
It might not look like heaven to you
But its home sweet home to me”
