Bob Le Pitch

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The pitch was bobbled
Like our old woollen goalposts
And the losing team complains
To their hosts

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Terrible pitch, more sand than Lowestoft
Or waterlogged, enough to sail a boat
Couldn’t get near their goalmouth
Protected, as it was, by a moat

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The pitch is on a slope
We were running up a hill
The ball kept rolling in our net
We were lucky to get nil

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Pitches used to be made of mud
Now you rarely see one that’s duff
No good moaning about the pitch
Sometimes you’re just not good enough

Notes

‘Keepers often have big hands, Wednesday was the time for Paul Robinson to hold his up. He said he couldn’t have done more – the
England squad and management have been in denial for years.
