Bohs Saunt Packing
¶ 1

You get an education
When you play another nation,
When teams go on a European jaunt.
For example, Belgium’s Ghent
Doesn’t rhyme with ‘merriment,’
But ought to be pronounced to rhyme with ‘haunt.’

Only eighteen seconds passed
(And they flew by pretty fast)
‘Ere Bohs’ ambitions took a mighty daunt.
For they tragically conceded
(Which precisely wasn’t needed)
A goal to their opponents out in Ghent.

And then they scored a second,
Which supporters present reckoned
Killed off the tie to quite a large extaunt,
And when the third went in
They had to take it on the chin,
Accepting what this drubbing truly maunt.

To their credit, Bohs kept fighting,
And they made the tie exciting,
A Dessie Byrne goal signalled their intaunt.
But all to no avail,
As the Belgians did prevail,
A result that brooked no reasonable dissaunt.
