Boring. With Mick On The Mike? Never!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Were The Poles in fear of going out?
Did they need to win that game?
They never even put their-selves about
Or look that bothered in the rain.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I almost dozed off watching that
T’was akin to watching fish
Though in passing I must raise me hat
To the plain speak cant of Mick!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Pointing out the cheats with venom
Clearly explained the strokes and cons
When we’ve too many football snobs trying to tell us
In weird ways what’s going on.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “The blokes a swallow” No he ain’t
“He’s nothing but a cheat”
Mick’s observations given straight
Tell us how it is.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 His voice reminds me of: being troubled by relegation,
Saipan or the sack
Total honesty, or on his teams total humiliation
A televised apology to the Wolves fans

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Unlike the condescending sofa cliques
Giving auto cued opinions
Mick’s actually managed an international team
So to my minds worth a listen!

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 “If Poland get beat without giving it a go
They’ll have nothing to show but regret”
With Mick on the touchline politely telling them so
Might Poland have beaten the Czechs?

Notes

Mick McCarthy’s mesmerizing words of total honesty spoken during last nights Poland v Czechoslovakia tie were so on the money, that they stopped me from falling asleep during what was “it has to be said ” (a pundit cliche) a boring game.

Mick wanted the Poles to give a real go to stay in the competition, as did their fans I’m sure, and I had to wonder what he would have said to the Polish players at the interval?

The Poland boss has just resigned as I write this, so there you go Mick apply for the job. Er maybe not I for one would miss your plain speak commentarys.

What was it the late great Bill Shankly said “Football is a very simple game” Perhaps some of todays pundits would do well to remember that, when using voces honed by elocution lessons and spouting off words with no relevance to what’s actually happening on the field!

Does “Up the tempo” (another pundit cliche) really mean “Increase the musical time?”

Go well and be lucky.

Peace.

Kev.
