Bottom Drawer

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Surrounded by the whiff of doom
Knowing we couldn’t beat the bottom team
At Fortress Carrow Road
Renamed Mattress Carrow Road
Soft and saggy, everything down the middle
No sign of a goal until one was struck
Oh what luck
Bored as hell watching a scrappy game
But one nil, three points, that’s why we came
Five minutes to go, Blackburn equalise
What a surprise
A goal as soft as a babys’ bum
It’s why they’d come
A whole coachload of them
Happy to get back on their bus
Having snatched a point from us
We walked home in the rain
More points down the drain
We got the rub of the yellow
Cowardly attempts to score
When we got promoted
I somehow expected more

Notes

The plot has been temporarily mislaid. Beginning to wonder if Norwich could beat an egg. No, not even with Delia on our side.
