Bradford calling Basra

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 As the zephyr stirs the sands to storm from Basra to Baghdad,
As the nights grow cold and danger lurks in townships in that land,
British braves are called to shield the good men from the bad,
Pray God keep them safe whilst they patrol Iraqi sand.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So raise the Union flag on high and show that you are proud,
And don the Claret and Amber shirt beneath your battle wear,
And as we sit here in safety, we’re telling you out loud,
We’re proud of you, we’re proud of you, keep safe now and take care.
