Bullied

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Every time that Swindon Town
visit former non-league grounds
they get bullied, beaten up
lost in hurly-burly kick and rush.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Echoes of defeat at Cheltenham
in 2-1 loss at Dagenham
when Swindon’s support seemed to
outnumber the home team’s.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Yesterday’s dismal defeat
like a dagger through the heart,
proving, again, that we can’t compete
even after a fantastic start.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 At Barnet on a Tuesday night
it really was a sorry sight
to see the opposition bite
whilst we lay down without a fight.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Another example at the Kassam
when Swindon’s players went missing,
crashing out of the FA Cup
in temperaures that were freezing.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 And then there’s Miiiilllwallll.
3 games against them last year
and a measly point to show
for our endeavours.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Draw at home against the Lions,
then mauled 3-2 at the New Den.
We didn’t even turn up at Wembley,
bobble making Charlie inconsolable.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Danny Baker likened Town
to a kindly aunt.
The players should be battling;
yesterday proved they can’t.

Notes

Whilst I fully support manager Danny Wison’s policy of playing football on the deck Swindon’s recent history is littered with defeats against supposedly inferior opposition, the latest at Dagenham yesterday. And I’m fed up with it! It’s all vey well beating the likes of Leeds and Southampton, but the real test for Town’s players comes against the likes of Dagenham and Cheltenham. At the moment they are failing against more physical teams. Danny, please take note. I want to change it! Rant over.
