Call It What It Was Mr Wenger? A Classic.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 His whining was somewhat irrelevant
To us neutrals enthralled on the couch
And punters who’d weathered the elements?
Were rewarded for venturing out.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 As that masterpiece kissed silken network
From blessed boot of ex Arsenal pro
Some Gooners almost clapped their hands to applaud
Then tried to make out their mitts had got cold.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Sat warm and snug on me sofa
I rose like a stag from me seat
As that beautiful volley from Bentley
Caused The Emirates faithfull to weep.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 More was to follow said masterpiece
Much more than what ventured before
Three times them Gooners squandered the lead
As an “Arry” caned Spurs banged in four.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The face of a young Tottenham follower
As the coup de grace entered the net
Set free from his classmates jibes of the morrow
Was worth the money we spent on our set.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Post match, poor Arsene was shell-shocked
As he moaned how his youngsters would learn
Excuse me Mr Wenger why don’t you just acknowledge,
A classic derby encounter, against North London rivals, Spurs!

Notes

Travelling on the London underground, this evening and stuck in a tunnel for what seemed ages. I couldn’t help but read the back pages of other peoples copies of The Evening Standard and all them freebies they give out at the station, that were giving great column space and headlines raving on about last nights North London derby match, played at The Emirates.

It’s right they should, it was a classic. Truly one of the best live games I’ve seen for ages and that beautiful first goal of David Bentley’s was worth venturing out in to a freezing London night for, alone.

Why didn’t Arsene Wenger just acknowledge that his team had played their part in a cracking game, instead of coming on the box, for the post match interview, moaning like an old woman, and looking like he’d just had his face slapped?
