Can the Tangerines start dreaming again ?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Holloway’s done it again
he’s at Wembley once more
there’s never a dull moment
with Olly and that’s for sure.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I’m a one club supporter
Cov City through and through
but I have a soft spot for Blackpool
even though my blood is Sky Blue.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It must be the family holidays
spent there when I was a lad
hearing endless tales of Mortensen
and Matthews from my Dad.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Walking past the famous Bloomfield Road
looking up at an empty windswept stand
thinking one day I’ll be in there myself
instead of a bucket and spade in my hand.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So good luck to Holloway’s Tangerine Army
may West Ham’s bubbles pop and burst
and I reckon Blackpool can do it again
as the Hammers ain’t got a Peters, Moore, or Hurst !

Notes

I hope no Coventry City fan reads this confession, but I’ve liked Blackpool since I was a nipper.

I remember walking past their ground with my family on holiday, but as it was the close season it was shut up.

A typical old ground but with loads of character, and I did eventually visit it a few seasons ago.

Coventry will always be number One for me, but we can like another club can’t we ?
